At claims tradeshows, our sales consultants are often asked, "But can your company do recorded statements? We often have a hard time finding a reliable company to work with on recorded statements. Either they can't commit to a specific date and time, or their telephonic linguists are unable to transcribe the conversation and submit the electronic file to us so that we may store it for future use."
We are elated to assist with recorded statements! Some companies cringe because they are confronted with a lot of syntax and antiquated methods with which to transcribe the syntax. It is important that these statements are done correctly so that the end user may refer to them and make sound decisions based on the content. Having qualified and morphology and hermeneutics- conscious linguists makes all the difference. For example, when properly transcribed in English, the following statement can take on different tones and emotion.
Question: (Regarding the auto accident)- What happened?
Generic Response: There's a stop and I was blinded by the sun. I looked directly at it and then looked down. I couldn't see clearly and that's when, what I told you. The cars were close at the line. The stop sign was long probably about five or six cars in front of me.
(Listener thinks this is cut and dry, plain and simple; the guy was staring into the sun and ran into the back of a car).
Properly transcribed response: There's a stop. And then I, I was blinded by the sun and I looked directly at the sun, and when I looked down, I didn't see clearly and that's when-- that's when... what I told you.. the cars were, were really close at the line... the line at the stop sign was long- probably about five or six cars in front of me.
(With proper intonations and pauses reflected grammatically, the listener then picks up on stuttering and hesitations in the conversation, leading her to believe that perhaps some of the story is being omitted.)

What makes you different from your competitors?
EZLS prides itself on honesty, quality and integrity and has signed the business ethics pledge www.business-ethics-pledge.org. We realize that many times clients cannot quality check documents for accuracy unless they or their employees speak that language. For that reason, EZLS ensures all translations are double-checked for accuracy by native speakers who have not lived outside their native country for more than 3 years, so their linguistic acumen is nearly flawless. For on-site interpretation; be it legal, medical or otherwise, if a certified interpreter (NSCS) is requested, a certified legal interpreter will be provided. Other companies send whomever they have available and hope the client does not inquire about the interpreter's qualifications or certifications.
Lastly, EZLS submits QA reports after 95% of all assignments to receive feedback from those in attendance at interpretation assignments as a means to improve. We also train all interpreters to our rigorous ethics, compliance and linguistic standards. We credential and test in-house using proprietary software which measures a prospective interpreter's ability to speak, hear, read, write and comprehend another language.
What types of certifications exist for translators and interpreters?
ATA (measures 13 to 15 language pairs), NAJIT and NCSC. In the United States, nationally recognized linguist certifications exist for only approximately 13 to 15 languages, not all!
